How will my son or daughter be assessed? When do these assessments take place?
Students will carry out tasks/assignments throughout the course. The teacher will mark
these, and so they will receive feedback as to how they are getting on.

For the assessment for Unit 1 which is sent away to be marked, they will be able to draw on the knowledge, skills and understanding they have developed in the qualification as a whole.

These take place in January and May each year.
What can my son or daughter do to support their learning at home?
What materials are provided or available online?
Students will be issued with a knowledge book for unit 1 and past papers.

The other units are continuous assessment and students gain work related skills which tells a prospective employer that you are creative, dedicated, able to work in a group and on your own. It tells them that you are disciplined, well-organised and that you have good listening and communication skills.

You will also develop a range of non-musical skills such as computer proficiency, which all employers are looking for.
